Today was a great day. I finished laying the carpet – yea! I also went into town to my favorite store – Habitat Restore. For $105 i bought a kitchen base cabinet, a countertop, and 4 pieces of oak panels to transform into my kitchen island. This will take a lot of McGyver type magic. I also bought 5 gallons of paint for the exterior and a vacuum. When I got back to the house, I weather proofed the poorly slanting roof that is over bedroom #3 and the den. Those green pieces are some sorta canvas (pieces of an old tent maybe) that I added for extra coverage. That part is just over the porch so it wasn’t critical. It’s me being green (read cheap) again. I usually don’t like to admit to this type of BS workmanship, but this was a necessary evil. (Who am I kidding? I’ll admit to anything if it gets a laugh. I just know this roofing rig will ensure me a place in redneck heaven!) The outside of the teepee will get no Doug love until the inside is done and the sun is shining. Peace out, D-Mac.
